4 Alchemists’ at E.A.S.T!
We’ll have work on display the entire EAST event, through Sunday the 21st. Several WPAmembers have work up, and I encourage you to swing by the space even if you can’t make the demos. There are cards for sale, magnets, art of course, but the main fun of EAST is just checking out what local artists are up to and to see their work. The Satellite building has a ton of studios so you’ll be able to see the WPA artists plus several others when you stop in.
Gelatin Printmaking– so addictive!
Kelly Tankersley, Carolyn Kimball, and I had great results today. We were printmaking friends for 2 hours–after that I bailed, but for all I know Kelly and Carolyn are still at it. We used Akua Kolor inks. They colors are quite vibrant and they seem to work really well with the gelatin. We used nice and smooth pre-cut cards. After we printed on the card we’d put it in a general drying spot for someone else to add to if they wanted. It was very collaborative and loose. It was fun to play. We did miss buddy Jill Alo, the 4th to our group.
We’ll be selling the cards at the WPA Studio in the Pump Project Annex at 1109 B Shady Ln.
1 during Austin’s EAST, Nov 13-14, 20-21, and WHAM in Houston, Nov 20-21.
